Come and learn about an inclusion program called "Play Pal" by the person that started this program 10 years ago in one of our school. The Broward ESE Advisory Executive board support the idea behind this program and believe that the expansion of the program would have a positive impact on the education of all special needs students.
Also Summer Program will be discussed.

***** The primary objective of the ESE Advisory Council shall be to inquire, inform, recommend and provide input on the effectiveness of educational programs and services for students with exceptionalities.
The Council/Committee functions shall include:
1. To inform and advise the Broward County School District as to compliance/noncompliance with State laws, Federal laws and School Board Policy regarding students with exceptionalities.
2. To evaluate the effectiveness of and provide input on Exceptional Student Education services, supports and programs.
3. To provide assistance by advocating for funding, services, and the rights of students with exceptionalities within our school district, State, County and community that results in a positive impact on student achievement.
4. To recommend or promote changes to Federal and State legislation and School Board Policy, Procedures and Guidelines to ensure that the needs of students with exceptionalities are accommodated.
5. To advise on the allocation and/or expenditures of Local, State, and Federal funds and grants pertaining to ESE student education.
6. To represent the interests and concerns of ESE students with disabilities and their parents on County, State, Local and School Board of Broward County committees and task forces.
7. To advocate for the purpose of ensuring that students with exceptionalities receive: A. Support and Services by qualified professionals and paraprofessionals; B. Environments/facilities that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); C. Appropriate modifications/accommodations for inclusion in school, community and extracurricular activities and clubs; and D. Access to school extracurricular activities and clubs.
8. To promote school-based training activities and community partnerships.
9. To collaborate with School Advisory Forums (SAF), School Advisory Councils (SAC), Area Advisory Councils, District Advisory Council, ESOL, PTA, School District Advisories, committees and other school/community organizations.
10. To provide information about Federal, State, local and School Board issues to parents and/or guardians of students with Exceptionalities which may have educational relevance.
